How much you spend on your first gaming PC is really up to you and your budget. However, we would recommend spending at least $500 if you want to be able to play the latest and greatest games at 1080p resolution with high detail settings. If you’re willing to lower your resolution and/or detail settings, then you could get away with spending less. Conversely, if you want to be able to play games at 4K resolution or higher, then you’ll need to spend more. Ultimately, it all comes down to what you’re willing to spend and what you’re looking to get out of your gaming PC.

It really depends on your budget and what games you want to play. A good starting point is around $500, but you could easily spend more.

If you want to game in 1080p, $500-$1,000 is a good range. Gaming in 1440p or higher is going to call for a budget of $1,000-$1,200 for the PC itself and another $400-$600 on peripherals. And lastly, 4K gaming is going to require a budget of more than $2,000.

If you have $1,000 to spend on a new gaming PC build, you can easily build a system that can handle anything you throw at it on a 1080P monitor.
